My position with DelDot as a Traffic Studies Engineer  for 28 years had me dealing with the public on a daily basis, both on the phone and in person.  I also conducted 20-30 public meetings, and workshops each year. In addition I was very active in my community as a civic leader, as well as state politics. I ran for state Representative in 1986. The run for state office lead me to create National Stuttering Awareness Week.
