Golf Club Captain

I am 58 years old and golf is my passion (after my family, of course!). I through determination, self belief, and confidence, have come out of my comfort zone and stepped up to become a Golf Club Captain of our Golf club. This entails lots of public speaking which before I would never have contemplated. I was determined not to be put off as I so very much wanted to fulfil my Captains role, stammer or not. 

My message to parents – please focus on keeping children talking and helping them to not become covert stammers, hiding away from society. A confident stammering child is so much better than one who doesn’t talk for fear of stammering. We don’t want them to grow up to feel like a failure as I once did.
